Vibrant Soundbridge Launch in China

The Vibrant Soundbridge has been launched in China making it the first active middle ear implant to obtain regulatory approval in the country. A workshop in Beijing to introduce the device was attended by approximately 70 leading surgeons and audiologists from across China. Two European surgeons - including HEARRING Expert Prof. Sprinzl from the University Clinic of Innsbruck - performed four live surgeries.
One of the patients was an 18 year old girl with bilateral atresia. She had undergone surgery to reconstruct the canal of her right ear ten years ago, but the intervention was not a complete success. When she woke up from anaesthesia this time she stated that she could hear and that it sounded better than before.

After the launch in Beijing, a second meeting with surgeons from China took place in Shanghai at which live surgeries were performed.
